Dr. H.C. Lui is a seasoned patent practitioner with a deep and sophisticated technical background, having led numerous research programs and technology transfer efforts in both information technology and electronic devices through his 35+ years’ technical career. His past appointments include Director of Strategy at Kent Ridge Digital Lab of Singapore and Associate Director of the E-business Technology Institute at The University of Hong Kong.

He has been involved in research and development of a diverse range of products, including pattern recognition, soft computing and artificial intelligence for big data analysis, and has many years of experience in software and hardware design, embedded system implementation and RFID systems. He has conducted research on lung sound pattern recognition and other life science-related artificial intelligence and data analysis. He is also familiar with bio-medical devices and bio-informatics.

Dr. Lui is especially skilled at understanding complex technologies and distilling the concepts down into clear, focused language when drafting patent applications.

He also has extensive experience in patent drafting especially in the areas of engineering, computer science, fintech and internet of things (IoT) since he joined Eagle IP in 2006.

His working languages are English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
